Simon Young, Dave Sherwood, Mark Hunter
biography
"Blending many styles and genres have helped London’s Tiberium to achieve Originality.Okay, so they draw their main Influences from the usual suspects like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, but manage to add other elements such as Iron Maiden, Rush, Opeth and early Pink Floyd. This all leads to a distinctly original sound that still retains all the magnitude of thrash.  A strong sense of power and immensity is shot through the bands material and their live act is even more powerful with the kind of stage persona that lead Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer and many other bands to the top, although i doubt that they will need lawers and therapists like some i could mention.

The band was formed by guitarists Simon Young and Andrew Thetford in 2006, Si stated in an interview “We had been playing guitar for around about a week when we started up our first band, it was with this group that we learned how to play our instruments, starting with some Metallica covers like ‘For Whom The Bell Tolls". They were then joined by drummer Dave Sherwood, who at the time was drumming for a band called Side:Project (Perfect name for a band!). Finally a bassist was found in the form of a local music technology student Mark Hunter.

At the beginning of 2007 they began to play live and in February recorded a 3 track demo containing ‘And Through The Scenes Of Destruction’, ’The Blind Lead The Blind’ and ‘Intentional Carnage’. Almost
immediately people latched onto the track 'Intentional Carnage' gaining radio airplay all around the world. This was followed up by two and a half gigs (thats the same pub twice and a party which was busted by old bill at the beginning of their set !). Then a number of small festival appearences with the likes of ‘Tokyo Dragons’ and ‘Forever Never’, then began working on new songs before entering a battle of the bands competition at the famous Walthamstow Standard where they beat off strong contenders to get into the semi finals.

A mini tour dubbed ‘Oyster Card Tour’ included a gig at the Bar Monsta in Camden with ‘Elimination’. Their EP was remixed as the sound was far from perfect on the demo and sold/given away at these gigs. The EP also contained ‘Absinthium’ an industrial mix of two of their tracks by The Occupier (Exorium etc) and an interview cut with live clips from the first Standard gig.

By October Simon was working on new songs bringing in a more progressive element and Dave took up drumming duties with legendary British “black/death metal” band DorEterna and also session work.
In November they played the Wastestock all dayer metal fest with the likes of ‘Mutant’, ’River Freshney’ and ‘The Omen’ and supported the tribute band ‘Sack Sabbath’.

So here we are in 2008 and with the studio booked to record their debut album, tentivley titled, ’Misanthropy’ and a tour is being set up to co-inside with its release. So in February it came as a shock when Andy decided to leave as his other commitments took up to much time.
With gigs planned at Camden’s Purple Turtle and Bedford Park in Streatham, they decided to go ahead and to also include new longer and more complex songs in their set, both gigs were also filmed and the Purple Turtle gig is being released in MP3 format for a free download via their myspace.
